He helped me build my fundamental technique, foundation in theory and ear training, all of which eventually led me to acquiring an Honours degree in music and playing in a professional wedding band. Top guy, had 3 guitar teachers when I was a kid and settled with Alan 3rd time round and I can assure you the man knows his stuff and keeps things relevant for kids to keep them interested and also adults as I stayed with him through the child to teenager transition! I tried a couple of other tutors in the Inverness area, but it was with Alan my guitar playing really blossomed. He must be one of the most experienced tutors in the area, and that comes out in his lessons. Having been a student of Alans for a couple of years now, I can thoroughly recommend him. I have been playing guitar for many years, and contacted Alan as I felt in a bit of a rut with my playing.
